Description
Above the parish of St. Andrew, in the cool mist where Jamaican coffee first took root in 1764, Flamstead Estate sits at roughly 3,300 feet. This is the slope that built the Blue Mountain name, and the cup still earns it.

Flamstead occupies a piece of history. Coffee was first reported on this St. Andrew property in 1764, when the crop quickly became prized across the British Empire. The estate has continued through generations of careful stewardship, and we source these beans through our friends Stephen Dunkley and Edgar Munn, who know this mountain intimately.
The Blue Mountains create a rare growing environment. Persistent cloud cover, cool temperatures, and steep volcanic slopes slow the cherries as they mature, concentrating sweetness over a long, even ripening. Genuine Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee is a globally protected certification mark, grown only in defined parishes and certified by the island's regulatory authority. To understand why these high slopes matter so much to the cup, read more about high-altitude coffee.
The CraftWashed, Then Roasted to City+
Flamstead cherries are wet processed, typically with aqua pulpers that strip the fruit and mucilage before a clean drying. This washed method is what gives Blue Mountain its hallmark clarity and a defect-free, polished bean. The careful sorting and grading the island is known for shows up directly in the cup. See how this approach compares in our guide to natural and washed coffee processing methods.
We roast these beans to City+, a medium profile that protects the delicate balance Flamstead is built on. Push a Blue Mountain too far and you flatten the very nuance you paid for. Our City+ approach keeps the chocolate and caramel sweetness intact while preserving the gentle island acidity, roasted in small solar-powered batches at our Virginia Beach roastery.
Milk Chocolate Caramel Toffee Soft Citrus BodyMedium-Full AcidityGentle The CupBalance Above Everything
This is a coffee defined by composure. The first sip lands smooth and rounded, with semi-sweet caramel and toffee leading into a layer of milk chocolate. A soft citrus note keeps it lively without ever turning sharp, and the finish is clean, creamy, and long.
Nothing here shouts. The pleasure is in the harmony, a cup that stays balanced from the bright top notes to the chocolate depth at the bottom. It rewards slow drinking and a quiet morning.
Find Your FixTreat this one gently. A V60, Chemex, or Beehouse pour-over highlights its clarity and citrus lift, while a classic Drip brew brings out the rounded chocolate body. Aeropress works beautifully for a single concentrated cup. Browse the rest of our coffee beans and find your fix.
